Looking Forward To This Journey

Today, Gentle Readers, I bring you news of a movie that has already blown my anticipation level off the charts. I speak of this summer's Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D. Brendan Fraser seems to be Hollywood's current "go to guy" for the old school type adventure movie. Movies like The Mummy or Inkheart. Now, I'm not complaining. I rather like Brendan Fraser. He's not the best actor in the world, but in roles such as the aforementioned, he is charming and fun and let's face it, he's damn easy on the eyes. One believes that he can pull off the physical stuff and he does have that cheeky rascal-like quality. Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D looks like it's going to be right up his alley and I am looking forward to taking this journey with him.

Directed by Eric Brevig (Xena: Warrior Princess) and starring Brendan Fraser (Crash), Josh Hutcherson (Bridge to Terabithia) and Anita Briem (Cold Trail), Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D is an adaptation of Jules Verne's classic 1864 novel Voyage au centre de la Terre. Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D modernises the original story to a contemporary time period and tells the tale of a science professor, his nephew and their mountain guide who, while on an expedition to find out what happened to the professor's missing brother, discover a fantastic and dangerous lost world in the center of the earth.

Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D is scheduled for release by New Line Cinema and Walden Media on 11 July 2008. More details as they become available.
