Mamma Mia, Here I Go Again

This is it folks. I am mad stoked about this movie. I know I'm probably being a stereotypical fag here, but I don't care. I'm champing at the bit for this movie!

Inspired by the songs of ABBA, including “Dancing Queen," “S.O.S.," “Money, Money, Money” and “Take a Chance on Me,” Mamma Mia is a celebration of mothers and daughters, old friends and new family found.

Meryl Streep (The Devil Wears Prada), Pierce Brosnan (The Matador), Colin Firth (Bridget Jones' Diary), Stellan SkarsgÄrd (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End), Christine Baranski (How The Grinch Stole Christmas), Julie Walters (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix), Amanda Seyfried (Alpha Dog) and Dominic Cooper (History Boys) star in this story of a mother, a daughter and three possible dads.

Mamma Mia tells the story of an independent, single mother who owns a small hotel on an idyllic Greek island. Donna (Streep) is about to let go of Sophie (Seyfried), the spirited daughter she has raised alone. For Sophie's wedding, Donna has invited her two lifelong best girlfriends, practical and no-nonsense Rosie (Walters) and wealthy, multi-divorcee Tanya (Baranski). The three friends were in a band, Donna and the Dynamos, back in the day. However, Sophie has secretly invited three guests of her own.

Attempting to find the identity of her father to walk her down the aisle, she brings back three men from Donna's past to the Mediterranean paradise they visited 20 years earlier. Over 24 chaotic hours, new love blooms and old romances rekindle.

Directed by Phillida Lloyd, Mamma Mia will be released on 18 July, 2008. Sadly, this puts it up against The Dark Knight, so it looks like I'll be spending a lot of time at the cinema that day.
