Coming Soon

Well, gentle readers, here is an item that raised my eyebrow. This looks like it could be interesting and while I'm not yet in, "Man, I gotta see this," mode, I am intrigued by the possibility of it. If they do it right - fingers crossed.

Solomon Kane is a character created by the pulp fiction writer Robert E. Howard (
Conan, The Barbarian) and appeared in the pulp magazine Weird Tales, mostly in the 1920s and 1930s. Solomon Kane, a 16th century Puritan soldier, damned by his cruelty and brutality, sets out across Europe, through the jungles of Africa and back, determined to vanquish the world of all evil. Solomon Kane is a solitary, sombre figure dressed entirely in black and carries a sword, dagger and two flint-lock pistols.

The film adaptation is written and directed by Michael J. Bassett (
Wilderness) and stars the exceptional James Purefoy (Rome) in the title role.

The release date has yet to be determined, but, late 2008 is likely. More details as they become available.
