How Many Will It Take Before We Say, "Enough"?

Five years; 73 Canadian military personnel dead; 1 Canadian diplomat dead; who knows how many wounded, both physically and emotionally; sons and daughters left without fathers and mothers; fathers and mothers left without sons and daughters; a land that has been fighting tribal wars for centuries; a land where a handful of people want our help, but the majority don't; an enemy that will use whatever method at it's disposal to kill and maim; a government that tows the propaganda line and tells us that there is peace and stability being brought to the region when the images and reports show otherwise; the cost in human life; the money that could have been put to better use; intolerance of dissension, so that if you question the mission, you are not supporting the troops; the increasing jingoism; five years with no significant change from when we first got there; and you tell me over and over and over again my friend, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction.
